I had a .mdb and when i compact it had
size 2,5 MB.
I created an empty database and i imported
all for the first .mdb file.
The new second file has only 500 Kb (!!!) size
and is the same as the first .mdb file.
How explained this ???

This seems to happen quite often with Access 200x, especially when
you've been doing a lot of design work. Apparently the Compaction
process recovers lost space in *tables* but not in Forms, VBA, or
other objects. As annoying as it is, I'd suggest that the Import
process may be a good idea, especially as you're working on the
structure of a database.

If Microsoft (or someone! Peter Miller? Dev Ashish? Anybody up for
this?) could come up with a Compact utility that *really* gets rid of
the garbage, they'd get a big THANK YOU from me and from lots of
folks!
