SP1 doesn't install on my machine. It complains about a hotfix being
installed, but gives no clue which one.

I saw an earlier post about it possibly being the SDK documentation update
being at fault. Seems wierd that documentation can do this, but if true,
how is it uninstalled? It has no uninstall program and does not appear in
Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel. Has anyone solved this?

Thanks,

Tim

I've the same thing. I have found that this is probably associated with one
or more hot fixes Microsoft put out over the past year. The only solution I
have found is to uninstall the Framework, reinstall it, and then apply the
service pack.

Be sure to back up any config files you have modified, because these will be
lost.

Hope this helps!

Ive had a whole lot of problems with this.
Mine just crashed and wouldnt install.
I even took the package apart to see what it does.
Looks like it just replaces the files in the 1.1 directory.
To get it installed properly, I had to uninstall 1.1, which then lead me
to reinstall VS, something else didnt work which also lead me to
reinstall IIS.
Had some problems uninstalling those too, I blame it on XP SP2.
Everything worked perfectly in the end, It was just a headache.

There are posts elsewhere from MS that say perhaps the W3SVC and SMPTP
services need stopping. They depend on IIS, so I plan to shut down IIS
before installing SP1.
