Please try the following one more time:

Using Defender About, Exit and Stop the program. Go to Add/Remove and remove
Windows Defender. Restart (very important).
Go to Windows Updates and download and install all that is offered.
After aallll update are done, download and install Defender from:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...e7-da2b-4a6a-afa4-f7f14e605a0d&DisplayLang=en
After installed check that version is 1.14.1452.3 dated 5/8/2006
Future Defender updates could install automatically, if not you can use the
Resolution on KB915105, in which you copy in RUN the following:
Msiexec /x {A5CC2A09-E9D3-49EC-923D-03874BBD4C2C}

well.. i can't download the updates:

Definition Update 1.14.1452.3 for BETA Windows Defender (KB915597)
Date last published: 5/10/2006
Download size: 2.6 MB

and

Windows Genuine Advantage Notification (KB905474)

from windows update. for a long time now i can't automatically download
them, i have to do it manually, following the link it provides after all have
failed.

I'm sure sfter these downloads everything will work, but how can i do them?
No link for manual update is available.

The windows defender on my computer now is
definition versio: 1.0.0.0 created on 25/01/2006

i have done that validation many times before, just now i got again this:

I also have on my computer this: C:\Documents and Settings\All
Users\Application Data\Windows Genuine Advantage\data

It never installs any activex control, is there another way to install it?

I haven't been able to download automatically from windows update for a year
now. I searched for clues many times, but with no success.
Only for a time i discoverd it MIGHT have something to do with an antivirus
from panda i had installed 2 years ago (only had for two weeks, though). But
i never could be sure of this, or got any help.

Is there anything you suggest i do? I would appreciate any help.
