Why does outlook "jam up" and time out...I am consistently
receiveing this error message...0x800CCC0B...

How can I prevent this from happening? One site says to
uncheck "server requires authentication." Will this work?
Do I want to do this. Please advise...

Thanks so much for the anticipated assistance.

Jason,

From what I can see, the only reasons that Outlook will generate a
0x800CCC0B error are as follows.

1. Outlook Express is either not installed on your machine or is damaged.
In thsi case, please visit http://windowsupdate.com and download any IE
updates, as they could possibly overwrite any damaged files in Outlook
Express.

2. You are using a Router with an MTU size that is too large for your
network type. In thsi case, please see the documentation on your router
for details on hwo to lower the "maxmtu" size. This number should be set
to 1492.
