I get 0x080070570 when I try to either copy or transfer a file from several
hard drives. It affects ALL files and is getting to be a pain. It does not
stop the files from working, but just stops the transfer to another drive. I
have 5 drives in all and the other 3 are fine. There is only Vista on the
system and I want to transfer files that I wish to keep and wipe the rest
with a fresh installation of Vista on another [Drive 6].
Anyone got any suggestions..................................please!!

Just so you know, you can go to microsoft.com and type your error number
into the search box.
This produces:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/910359

The article seems to indicate this error is Windows 2003 Server or XP issue,
but gives instructions on how to manually do the same thing in Vista.
Remember to use elevated command prompts.

Hi Mark,

Thanks for the lightening fast response to my plea for help. I left out one
important factor and that was that the disks I was importing to were 2 x
500Gb which I had formated with Vista. They showed as AOK so never gaave them
a thought till I had posted the question and decided to try and format again,
but this time using Paragon 8.5 Drive Manager. After reformating i tried a
file transfer to both of the drives and hey presto they now don't show the
dreaded code. Problem solved. The
0x080070570 code covers such a multitude of sins that it is not much help as
the descriptions of what it was supposed to be was not what my system
exhibited. So much for MS help with its fault codes!
I wonder why it is that software and in particular MS software has to depend
on those like you to solve their problems on a product we have paid good
money for. I cannot think of any other product sold as work in progress!

Thanks again Mark and I hope my solution may help someone else.

Cheers

Peter
