I get a BSOD: Stop 0x000000c4 (0x00000081, 0x816a3f88 (or 0x816549c8,
0x8165cda8), 0x0000008a, 0x00000000) when I'm trying to run CloneCD 4.2.0.2
after updating drivers of the IDE channels.
The Windows is XP.

Here's what you're looking at:

DRIVER_VERIFIER_DETECTED_VIOLATION (0xC4)

A device driver attempting to corrupt the system has been caught. This is
because the driver was specified in the registry as being suspect (by the
administrator) and the kernel has enabled substantial checking of this
driver.
If the driver attempts to corrupt the system, bugchecks 0xC4, 0xC1 and 0xA
will
be among the most commonly seen crashes.

Did you enable driver verifier on any of the drivers in your system?

CloneCD 4.2.0.2 works fine in Windows XP. The issue you are experiencing
can occur if you have Norton Antivirus installed and have the Deadlock
Detection feature in Driver Verifier enabled. Follow these steps to disable
the Deadlock Detection Feature:

1. Click Start, click Run, and then type verifier.
2. After Driver Verifier Manager starts, click Display Existing Settings,
and then confirm that Deadlock Detection is turned on.
3. Click Back.
4. Click Create Custom Settings, and then click Next.
5. Click Select Individual settings from a full list, and then click Next.
6. Click the settings that you want to turn on, make sure the Deadlock
Detection check box is not selected, and then click Next.
7. Click the drivers that you want to verify, and then click Next or Finish
if you choose all drivers on your computer.
8. Restart the computer.

If you cannot log on to the computer after you restart with Driver Verifier
turned on, turn off Driver Verifier. To do so, start the computer in Safe
mode, log on by using an account that has administrator rights, start Driver
Verifier, and then choose to delete the existing settings. After you do so,
Driver Verifier is turned off.

Typically, Driver Verifier is used by device driver developers to make sure
that their driver passes the hardware quality test. Microsoft recommends
that you use this tool with caution.

What settings should I want to turn on in "Select Individual settings" in
"Driver Verifier Manager"?

I deleted the existing settings in the Driver Verifier and the error stopped
appearing.

The CloneCD 4.2.0.2 copied a disk but the StarForce Protection technology
didn't recognize the disk. How to make the exact copy? I made the copy on a
CD-RW disk to check if the StarForce Protection technology would recognize
the disk.
