03-21-07 OCR software -ABBYY 6 useless- for Epson V700

Having tried ABBYY 5 with my old Epson scanner, with great success, I find
version 6 poor in comparison. Often it fails to recognise text (leaving
blank spaces) and is hopeless with reproducing formatting.

Sadly... when I sold my old scanner, I didn't think to copy the OCR
software, thinking the latest version would be improved... As such, am
not about to spend money upgrading to the professional version, having
tried the joke edition supplied with the Epson V700.

Does anyone have any recommendations for OCR software, that will work on an
Epson V700?

I have ABBY Finereader 6 Sprint whcih came bundled with my Epson
Perfection 3490 Photo scaneer. It works fine for me.
