have an Access02 application and to my bafflement the report(s) will not
print with color.

double checked the color cartridge in my HP deskjet; and sanity checked with
a multicolor Word doc....

but the report is only b&w - - you can see slightly differing shades of
black where it is suppose to be color.

Is there a report property control forcing b&w?

There very well may be.
Check your printer settings.
My HP has the option to print in color or black and white.
In addition to b & w, yours may also have a graytone setting.

the printer's printer settings? but that would be for everything....and as
noted in the original question I sanity checked color printing by using a
color Word doc and that worked fine....

or do you mean Access printer settings? . . . . I'm not sure that I've seen
anything like this inside Access....is there such an animal?

I do note that in Report properties there is a "Palette Source" . . . but I
don't know what that is or how to control it...no Q&A on this site about that
report property...

It can't be the printer or its driver.

I have color reports printing perfectly ok from other Access02 applications
on this same machine and same printer....

The one and only application that only prints b&w I did not write....I
simply tried to color code some report controls/fields. Looks fine on screen.

Is there a way the original author for some reason forced b&w? I don't know
how that would be done. Am always interested in learning more but remain
quite baffled....
