I have a 120 GB harddrive and have never used even half of the space
yet....now I find that my disk reports as full with 0 to 512 KB of free
space left. I guess this might be because of a virus but I use AVG and
also housecalls free scanner so I'm a bit stumped here....any ideas?

Thanks

Doug

Go to the C: drive root, and analyze the size of the folders in it by
right-clicking and selecting properties. Work in the direction of the
largest use of of space.

This might not be the solution but it is a place to start. Can you open My
Computer? If so right click the drive and select Properties->Tools. Click
the Error-checking button and check both of the boxes the click Start. Close
out and restart your computer. Chkdsk should run and will scan and hopefully
fix problems that your hard drive might have.

have tried that....its really strange because I would never let my drive get
to the point of being this full in the first place. I know for absolute
certainty there's only 40 GB of files on my drive.....found hidden file
pagefile.sys on root dir and its reading at about 8 GB.....and all my
folders are exactly as they should be which is why I cannot figure out why
its reading zero disk space.

OK. it was only a thought as I know that in the WinME NG's sometimes
people have problems with drive space due to SR being broken and the
Restore Archive not FIFOing old points so taking up huge amounts of space.

There's a little program called sequoia that will chart the size of all the
files on your computer. Sorry, but I don't have a url for the download, but
you might be able to do a search and find it.

If not, I can email it to you, the file is under 600k.

oh ....dang it...I'm terribly sorry.....never thought to change to present
server.....my apologies.
please send to (e-mail address removed)

I will change it from this point ..........thanks.

You probably don't want to post a real, unadulterated email addy on the
newsgroups anyway. It tends to attract all sorts of interesting spam.

The file is on the way.

NOW you tell me (smile).....i don't think it will be a problem as i have
excellent filters established on my outlook express...i have all the names
on my list filtered into separate mail boxes so anything in my inbox is
automatically spam.
