The Half Life series has been one of the most popular gaming franchises of all time, however the story ended abruptly nearly 12 years ago with Half Life 2: Episide 2. Fans have been clamouring for Half Life 3 for years, with an endless supply of memes, false starts and April fools jokes about the game.
However, there is finally some good news... Valve have announced Half Life: Alyx, one of their flagship VR games. Given the gravity gun mechanics of the previous games and the Valve VR headset, it's no surprise that this pairing could be a match made in heaven.
We'll find out more on Thursday, but it is certainly official as the official Valve twitter account have released this:
ArsTechnica have a bit of leaked information on the game, which suggests we're looking at a March 2020 release date and that it may actually be a prequel to HL:2 (unsurprisingly playing as one of the main characters, Alyx):
