I've had this "memory dump" problem twice today and don't know what it means. Is it "dumping" my memory? And if so, for what reason? Does anyone know anything about this MMPOOL driver and how it can be replaced?

Please advise.

A memory dump is so we can assertain what the problem was by reading the memory dump file.

What is the PC specifications ... is it a Dell or some other such beast.

You give us no real information ... so I can only say that
MMPOOL driver is corrupted.

Welcome to the forum. ;)

I'm so new to all this that I have no idea what information you need. My computer is a COMPAQ and I have windows XP and Office 2003 installed. I am a disabled grandmother who has no idea what to give you or what you need. And I only said that to say I am too old to know what's going on with computers nowadays. New problems and new techs. Can you please ask me for what you need and I will look it up. When I read the error report, I wrote down this information: temp\wer3.tep.dir00\sysdata.xml and this one also: windows\minidump\mini072006-03dmp. Have no idea what it means.

Thank you for whatever help you can give me. Can this driver be fixed or a new driver installed?

Hello Babs, if it's any consolation, I'm a Granddad of 5 & have been driven mentally disabled. ;)

Bad news & more bad new, yeah well it' no good beating about the bush.

Comcrap & me don't see eye to eye, however, I'll need a bit more information.

Do you have any other indications as to which compaq you have? Just have a look and see if there is any more writing on the case ... or if you can find the booklet that came with it. How old is it? is it a tower case type or a laptop/notebook?

Can I ask you to read over this ...
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315263/
... read it slowly, It will tell you what to look for in the 'memory dmp file' so you can post the infomation for me. If you have several "dmp" files already with different pointers, then it's quite possible to turn out to be a ram problem or another hardware problem.

It may be easier for you to seek a local shop who can give onhand advice ... not easy to find these days.

One step at a time and we may get there. :thumb:

...all my info together and go to the link and get the dump info you requested and come back with as much as I can gather for you.

Thank you loads.
